9. Carefully pull on the narrow end of the tie and push up the bottom of the knot so that it gets closer to your collar.
10. Make any necessary adjustments until you are satisfied with the knot you’ve created.
11. To remote the tie:
1. Take the free end of the knot around your neck and pull on it, while at the same time holding onto the knot to make it come loose.
2. Pull on it until the knot disappears.
3. If the knot doesn’t release itself, then you haven’t actually done a Windsor knot, but rather one that looks close to it. Just untie the remaining knot.
Half Windsor
1. The wide end of the tie needs to be around 30 cm under the narrow end. Take the wide end and cross it over the narrow one.
2. Take the wide end over the narrow end and then place it under the narrow end.
3. Take the wide end up, carefully pulling it so that it goes into the principal loop located around your neck.
4. Take the wider end of the tie up front, pull it over the narrow end from the right to the left.
5. Take the wider end and place it through that loop one more time.
6. Take the wider end of the tie through the main knot in the front. After that, use both hands to adjust the tightness of the knot and push it up until it reaches the collar.
Another Version
This is another version that, although it offers less symmetry than other methods, it has the principal advantage of being easier to remove by simply pulling out the narrow end.
The Pratt knot enjoys more popularity than the Nicky knot, however it is not as symmetric and doesn’t actually release itself.
